The Soundlens range is made by Starkey, a US based hearing aid manufacturer with subsidiaries in UK and most other major markets around the world. Starkey has historically focused on the manufacture of very small hearing aids, sometimes at the expense of the latest technology and the Soundlens is a continuation of that philosophy with Starkey claiming it as the first "custom fit invisible-in-the-canal" hearing aid. It is certainly very small and needs to be professionally fitted deep within the ear canal.
The Soundlens comes in three different technology levels, the 11, the 9 and the 7. With the feature rich Soundlens 11 it could be that Starkey have achieved both miniaturisation in combination with high level technology – the Holy Grail of hearing aid manufacture. Soundlens 11 incorporates the following Starkey sound processing features – PureWave Feedback Eliminator, Voice iQ2, T2 Remote Control and Spectral iQ. The most interesting of which is the remote control which utilise any touch-tone phone – could this be the standard of the future?
Small, invisible, great sound – it’s all been claimed before but perhaps the Soundlens 11 comes close to delivering what every hearing aid users wants. Gives us a call to find out just how close the Starkey Soundlens is to being all that you want.
