The Surround Sound Processor seen in the more advanced Live 9 and Live 7 families is retained in the ReSound Live 5 models. Although only in 9 channels, the hearing aid fitter is still provided with sufficient adjustment handles to ensure even unusual audiometric configurations can be fitted.
In addition to the amplification benefits, the wireless connection options are quite surprising in a so-called budget range. The ReSound Alera 5 wireless models can connect to all 4 of the ReSound Unite wireless accessories. Wearers can choose between, or have all of, the following options:
The Surround Sound processor is modelled on the processing of the natural ear – where bass and treble sounds are processed separately. The idea is to delivering a more rich and detailed sound quality.
Besides the usual BTE and ITE models, the ReSound Live family was the platform used to introduce three new designs into the ReSound portfolio. A new RIE, a remote-microphone design (taken from the successful be by ReSound product line) and a new power BTE. The power BTE provides very high output for severe hearing loss in a smaller package. The power BTE also saw the introduction of the iSolate nano- coating for protection against moisture. This procedure is now used in all ReSound products.
