Features
The P640S is beige in colour, and worn behind-the-ear, with a thin silicon-plastic tubing directing the amplified sound into the ear canal. A ‘dome’ is attached to the end of the thin tubing. The dome helps the thin tubing sit comfortably in the ear canal. The thin tubing should sit close to the side of the head, and when in place correctly, offers a discreet fitting. A medium length tubing is sent as standard, but shorter and longer tubings are available too.
User controls have been made as friendly as possible for fingers that aren’t quite as dexterous as they used to be. The volume control is wheel shaped and numbered. The push button is easy to press.
An invisible water-resistant coating has been added to the internal components. This helps to repel moisture, and prolongs the P640Ss working life.
The P640S offers great technology at an attractive price. 4 sound processing channels give a clear reproduction of incoming sound.
The P640S includes automatic noise reduction to reduce background noise allowing you to focus on what's important. Feedback management helps to prevent unwanted whistling.
A low battery warning (a series of double beeps) will sound in your ear when the battery voltage drops below a certain point.
A telecoil (loop) setting is available in the second program, allowing for pick up of sound sent via inductive loops. (e.g. in theatres, railway stations, churches, post offices, and on some amplified telephones)
If you have sent us your audiogram in advance, the P640S will be programmed according to your hearing loss profile.
- Programme 1 is the general listening setting
- Programme 2 is set to telecoil mode to pick up sound from induction loops
If you do not have an audiogram; our standard setting, catering for a mild to moderate, high-frequency hearing loss is used to create the 2 programmes.

FAQs
Here's answers to the frequently asked questions about the P 640S Digital Hearing Aid
The medium length tubing included as standard fits more than 85% of our customers comfortably - but we will send out a shorter or longer tubing if need be. A number of different sizes and styles of dome designs can also be used. A smaller dome can help to minimise the ear canal feeling blocked up; but a bigger dome may be required to prevent amplified sound leaking back out the ear canal and creating feedback (whistling).
If anything about the physical fitting or sound is not to your liking, you can return the P640S for a full refund within the first 30 days of receipt. Do of course feel free to contact us to see if the problem can be resolved with a fine tuning.

If an evaluation by a hearing professional indicates that you have hearing loss in both ears, and especially where the degree of loss is similar, two hearing aids are usually recommended.
While it may be tempting to try to limit the cost by going with a single hearing aid, wearing just one hearing aid may not give you maximum benefit in some difficult listening situations.
The following items will need to be replaced on the P640S:
- Battery: budget 3 batteries per month (6 batteries in a pack).
- Dome: change the dome every month on average (10 domes in a pack).
- Tubing: change the tubing every 3 months (single tubings can be purchased, or in a pack of 5).
No on/off switch, just insert battery, close / open battery door.
There are two controls. The programme button to change between 2 settings. And the wheel-styled volume control which can be wheeled up or down to change volume softer or louder.
