Auragel is a safe, water-based gel suitable for use with earmoulds, custom hearing aids and ear plugs. It has been on the market for more than 20 years, and has helped thousands of people to insert their hearing aids more easily.
Not only is the aid easier to insert and more comfortable to wear; Auragel also acts as a sealant to encourage a better fit in the ear canal. A better fit means a better acoustic seal and fewer feedback (whistling) problems, even when chewing. The lubricating features of Auragel allow the aid or mould to be inserted much more easily past the very features of the ear which then retain it. People with soft ear-cartilage, soft earmoulds, or unusual-shaped ear canals who use Auragel should immediately find their product more comfortable to wear.
Easier hearing aid insertion is particularly important for first time hearing aid wearers; the easier their product is to insert, the more likely it will be inserted correctly, and used appropriately as soon as possible.
Auragel will not harm the ear or hearing aid. Wash hands and apply a little Auragel to the ear around where the earpiece/earplug will sit. After removing the earpiece, wipe the ear with a damp cloth.
