Geemarc is a leading manufacturer of assistive listening devices; with decades of experience helping the hard of hearing. Their AmpliCALL range features specialised alerting products, helping to ensure that important sounds are not missed. The LoopHEAR 101 is a portable induction loop system that can be used in a variety of locations, to assist in face-to-face interactions such as at service counters, at small meetings or even in vehicles. It is specifically designed to facilitate communication between a speaker and wearer/s of hearing aids with Telecoil settings. It transmits any sound it picks up with its integral microphone direct to the T-coil enabled hearing aid via the built-in loop. (An external microphone, which is supplied, may be added if required.) There is a handy magnetic field blue LED indicator which lights up to show that sound is being picked up. This tough but light unit is easily transported and an integral rechargeable battery allows it to be freestanding. This battery is both replaceable and rechargeable and long usage can be expected. Although primarily designed to help users of hearing aids with telecoils, a handheld receiver is supplied for hearing impaired users who do not use a hearing aid, do not have a ‘T’ coil hearing aid or wish the extra privacy afforded by the hand held listener. The user must press and hold the receiver button to get the audio signal. This handheld receiver also has its own volume control. Also worth noting that the LoopHEAR101 can transmit sound through the loop from an external audio source like a TV set, MP3-4 or computer. There is a 3.5mm socket on the back of the LoopHEAR 101 to allow for this.
Please note that before first use, the rechargeable battery will need to be inserted into the LoopHEAR101 (you’ll need a screwdriver to do this) and the battery will need to charge for 4 hours. The power indicator will blink red while the battery is charging. When the power indicator is blinking green, the battery is fully charged.
