Overview

Thanks to its very small size, the instant fit in your ears and the very good sound quality, the Signia 3Nx hearing aid delivers a clear natural sounding experience.

Each hearing aid comes pre set with 6 programmes. Each of them will help you with general every day listening, support you in a noisy environment, outdoors, make listening to your TV and to music more enjoyable,  and ensure that you can hold a conversation over the phone. Our audiologists can also program the tinnitus setting for you to include masking and relaxation sounds.

Audiologist Support:

You may already have a hearing test audiogram, or you may need some support to understand the extent of your hearing loss, or which hearing aid to choose. Whatever your situation, talk to us about how we can help and book a free consultation with one of our audiologists through this link:  audiology consultation

Remote Adjustments:

This hearing aid comes with access to the free Signia App, meaning the audiologist can remotely make adjustments where needed, all from the comfort of your home. You can also update the aids yourself, using your Smartphone, where you can adjust not only the volume but also the listening programme.

The Signia MiniPocket remote control is also available to purchase and use instead of the App to adjust the volume and help you change between programmes.

The Signia Silk hearing aid is extremely comfortable. They are all fitted with super soft silicone sleeves which allows the hearing aid to sit comfortably in your ear. Each hearing aid is colour coded: blue for your left ear and red for your right ear in order for you to easily see what aid is for which ear.

Whatever your lifestyle is, the Signia’s Silk hearing aid will give you the confidence of knowing that no one will notice you are wearing a hearing aid because it’s so small.

Sounds

Best suited for mild to moderate hearing losses – although do feel free to send us a copy of your hearing test results as more moderate-severe losses may be able to be accommodated.

The Signia Silk 3NX offers a host of sound processing features including:

  • 24 sound processing channels
  • 6 listening programmes
  • 3 levels of noise reduction
  • Sound smoothing – making sure sudden loud sounds are instantly controlled
  • Advanced feedback management: high speed monitoring and control of feedback in individual processing channels
  • ‘eWindscreen’ - Suppresses wind noise; ideal for the outdoors
  • Signia tinnitus solutions: Shaped steady-state or modulated noise options can be discussed with our audiologists in advance of purchase and set up as a specific listening programme
  • ‘TwinPhone’ – when wearing a pair of Silk 3 NX aids, use your TwinPhone listening programme when holding a phone to your right ear and the caller’s voice can be sent into the left ear too - activate your listening programme via the Signia App or remote control
  • ‘Binaural OneMic directionality’ – available when wearing a pair of Silk 3Nx aids - Provides the benefits of directionality for hearing aids which have only one microphone. The left and right microphones are wirelessly connected to allow directional processing.

Initial sound set up

If you have sent us your audiogram in advance; the Silk 3NX will be pre-programmed before dispatch with the start-up amplification profile based on your audiogram.

If you do not have an audiogram; our default setting, suitable for a mild to moderate, high-frequency hearing loss is used to create the start-up profile.

Unless otherwise discussed with our audiologists (e.g. for activating tinnitus masking), the 6 listening programs will be set for:

  1. Universal – general listening
  2. Noisy environment
  3. TV
  4. Music
  5. Outdoors
  6. TwinPhone mode

Overall volume levels and listening programmes are changed via the free to download Signia App. The Signia App is compatible with Apple devices with the iOS version 12.0 and higher; and for most Android devices using Android 6.0 and higher.   You may wish to check your specific device on Signia's compatibility listing.

The optional MiniPocket remote control can adjust overall volume and change between listening programmes

Looks and size

As one of the world’s smallest hearing aids, you can be confident that no one will notice you’re wearing them. The Signia Silk 3Nx is ready to wear on the spot thanks to its super-soft silicone sleeves that allow it to hide comfortably in your ear.

The colour-coding of red for right and blue for left helps you to put the hearing aids in the correct ear easily, and there is a choice of a black or mocha coloured front. We find the black colour in particular blends well with the shadow of the ear canal.

A short pull-cord attached to the outer side of the hearing aid makes removing the Silk 3NX a simple task.

How To Replace Wax Guards On Silk Hearing Aids

How to buy

Not sure about buying a hearing aid online? We keep the process straight-forward, and here's what happens:

Select which ear you wish to wear the hearing aid on (left / right / both); the colour and how to want the aid to be powered - and add to basket. Check-out and purchase with Visa / Mastercard or PayPal (where there is a 'Pay-in-3' option for an interest-free 3 month split payment plan)

Your order will be posted directly to you via Royal Mail for a 30 day home trial. Everything you need to try the aid for this period is included.

Many customers have a copy of their audiogram (hearing test result on a graph) from an NHS appointment or from one of the high street stores and will email us a copy before ordering - audiology@hearingdirect.com.

If the hearing aid is appropriate for the hearing loss, we use the audiogram results to program the initial settings of the hearing aid.

Dont worry if an audiogram is not available; you can begin with our standard setting – geared to suit a mild to moderate, mainly high frequency hearing loss. This is the type of hearing loss we commonly see in those with age-related or noise-induced hearing losses.

Another option is to complete the online hearing check, which, if completed as instructed, gives a reasonable estimate of someone’s middle and high frequency hearing: https://www.hearingdirect.com/pages/hearing-test

If you wish for your online hearing check result to be used with your order you will need to let us know before or just after your order is placed.

Please talk to us if you need anything else regarding the set up further customised. We are real people, and would love to help provide the best possible starting point for you.

Once you've received the hearing aid it's a case of trying out the physical fit and the sound. If you need any adjustments, some can be done remotely if you've downloaded the Signia App – or we can reprogramme in house if the aid is posted back. Email or call us and we will help immediately or set up a time to discuss your requirements in more detail. If you choose to send the hearing aid back to us in the post for reprogramming we will extend your 30 day trial by a week to account for postage times.

If the sound or physical fit of the product is not to your satisfaction, our 30 day money back guarantee is a no quibble policy.

FAQs

How do I know if it will fit my ear?

The Signia Silk 3Nx is one of the world’s smallest instant fit hearing aids, and Signia report an extremely high rate of physical fitting success. But, if you’re not happy with the result in your own ear, our 30 day return period allows for a no-quibble full product refund.

What if it doesn’t work for me?

If anything about the physical fitting or sound is not to your liking, you can return the Silk 3NX for a full refund within the first 30 days of receipt. Please do however feel free to contact us to see if the problem can be resolved with a remote fine tuning session arranged direct to your hearing aids via your Smartphone!

Should I get one or two?

If an evaluation by a hearing professional indicates that you have hearing loss in both ears, and especially where the degree of loss is similar, two hearing aids are usually recommended.  While it may be tempting to try to limit the cost by going with a single hearing aid, wearing just one hearing aid may not give you maximum benefit in some difficult listening situations.

How much are the running costs of the Silk?

The following items will need to be replaced on the Silk:
Battery: budget 6-7 batteries per month (6 batteries in a pack).
Click Sleeve dome:  replace the dome every 8 weeks on average (6 domes in a pack).
Wax guard: change the wax guard every 8 weeks on average (8 in a pack).

How do I control the Silk?

There are no user controls on the Silk; but the free Signia App will allow access to change between the 6 listening settings; overall volume within those settings if need be, as well as make a change in the bass/treble balance.

I don’t have a smartphone to download the App?

There is a small pocket remote control available instead of the App which will allow volume and programme changes. The remote control will need to be purchased separately. If ordered at the same time as the Silk, we can pair the remote control for you, but it is a straight-forward procedure to do this at home. You can have both the App and remote control on the same aids.

How do I arrange a remote fine tuning session?

Email or call our audiologists (audiology@hearingdirect.com) and they will arrange this directly with you. A unique code is supplied to allow changes to be loaded into your hearing aids via your smartphone.

How do I download the app?

Apple devices: The Signia app is compatible with all Apple devices with the iOS version 9.3 and higher and can be found on the app store.

Android devices: The Signia app is compatible with most of the Android (Android 5.0 and higher) devices and can be found on the app store.

The Signia App is required in order to switch between the 6 listening programmes and to change volume or adjust the bass/treble balance. If you do not wish to use the App, these changes can be made via a physical remote control – the ‘MiniPocket’ remote. Please note the Minipocket device will need to be purchased separately.

How do I control the Silk?
If you do not wish to use an App, the Signia MiniPocket remote control is available as an optional accessory. Click here to buy.
