Behind the ear hearing aids fit, as the name suggests, behind the ear. A thin, clear, almost invisible tube goes over and to the front of the ear connecting the electronic parts of the aid to the ear canal with a dome that fits snugly into the canal.
Our collection of hearing aids has been designed with mild to moderate hearing impairments in mind. We place great emphasis on high-quality devices. The models we dispense come complete with the features you need to help you effectively manage hearing loss. As technology advances, behind the ear hearing aids (BTE) are now smaller and lighter than ever. Alongside this, our BTE models are comfortable and do not require specialised fitting. A number of our devices can be pre-programmed to match hearing test results so that they are ready to wear and work as needed on arrival.
Closed fit:
Closed fit behind-the-ear (BTEs) features a fitted ear mould that fills the outer ear. Whistling sounds are minimised and they are easier to handle due to the devices being designed to seal the auditory canal.
Open fit:
Open fit BTEs are designed to include a thin plastic micro tube, which goes into the ear canal and extends over the outer ear. These devices are small and aesthetically pleasing, reducing any uncomfortable feelings associated with in-ear hearing aids.
