Smartphones For The Hard Of Hearing

Picture of person using Amplicomms Smartphone Amplicomms PowerTel M9500 Amplified Smartphone

Smartphones rule! They provide us with every element of communication required in this modern world of ours and it’s all at our fingertips. Whether you want to text a friend, phone a family member, surf the net for the nearest restaurant or keep track of your emails, it’s all there for the taking. Manufacturers have noted their popularity and are making giant leaps forward in widening their range of amplified smartphones.

So why select an amplified smartphone over a normal mobile?

If you simply want to phone or text a friend then a standard mobile phone may be enough for you. For those who haven’t tried it yet however, the smart phone can revolutionise the way you conduct your daily life. Once tried and tested, it’s difficult to imagine going back to a standard mobile.

Basic functions of an amplified smartphone include:

  • Telephone function
  • Text messaging service
  • Amplification
  • Ability to browse the Internet
  • Send and receive emails and pictures
  • Camera and video recorder
  • Diary
  • Alarm clock
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • Internet radio

Although bursting with technology, the key thing to remember is that they’re all very straightforward to use, with most phones offering a simple operating system that is easy to navigate. For those who need a little extra help, some phones come with a ‘Remote Management’ function, which allows you to nominate somebody to manage your phone settings remotely if you need them to.

To give you a better idea of what we’re talking about, HearingDirect have carefully selected three models from our range specifically designed for the hard of hearing. All provide just that little bit extra, be it functionality, simplicity or extra loud capability. Each of the phones are delivered unlocked and SIM free. This means that you can choose any provider and any contract or SIM only deal.
