Better than my previous digital aids

I've received the pair of HD400 which you adjusted according to my audiogram, and their performance which 'off the shelf' was already very good is now excellent. I live in France and for some years now I have been using digital hearing aids which have been OK, but then since they cost 5 times as much, so they should be.

Your HD400 have an advantage in that they are adjustable so that when necessary, I can boost amplification, or in the proximity of children, I can turn down the volume to protect what little natural hearing I have left. I haven't tried yet, but with the transducer safely behind the ear, the tubing should be easy to keep clear of grott and debris. The Power-Domes you kindly supplied, are comfortable and there is much less acoustic-feedback (which the French quaintly call "Arsene"). I shall certainly appreciate the lack of embarrassing whistling when embracing ladies in my village -- an innocent social obligation you understand which I observe with enthusiasm. And often.

Thank you for your prompt and courteous service, value for money, and for hearing-aids which by comparison with other ridiculously expensive models costing 5 times as much, are better designed and perform better. Springtime and Summer surely cannot now be far away, so I look forward to listening to birdsong, and crickets.

I am absolutely delighted with the service your company provided (rate 5 – excellent).

The audiologist Joan McKechnie accepted my ‘from memory’ audiogram and programmed the HD400 hearing aid accordingly which works perfectly – speech is crystal clear for the first time. The delivery could not have been better, I ordered at lunchtime on Friday and it was with me 9:30am the following day.

If I had bought a similar quality of hearing aid from anywhere else I was looking at around £1400 but from Hearing Direct £300!

I highly recommend your company to my friends and hope they will draw on you good services.

Working perfectly

I bought an HD400 hearing aid at a very good price which arrived very quickly. The product whistled at the louder volumes so customer services sent another set of tubing with the correct earpiece which I changed easily. It is now working perfectly. Thank you

First hearing aid

I recently purchased a HD400 it arrived promptly, unfortunately without the battery and leaflet pack but this was immediately and apologetically rectified after a phone call.

This is my first hearing aid due to a modest deteriation in hearing in one ear. I looked at all available offerings and thought with the 30 day trial it was worth trying out this aid before spending 4 or 5 times as much elsewhere.

All I can say is I am delighted it has enhanced the hearing in that ear and on just the lowest setting gives me much improved cognisance of conversations directly to me and in groups.

Well done to Hearing Direct for supplying a good product at a realistic price in these times.

I would like to tell any person considering buying a hearing aid from your company that I rate the product a "5" with 0 being rated bad and 5 rating excellent. I dealt with Joan and she was a pleasure to talk to and will be ordering more products in the future. I live in America and have used hearing aids for the last 5 years. My aids cost me $3,000 total for a left and right ear. Being 79 years old this was a financial shock to my finances. My wife is visiting our daughter in England and she purchased a left and right hearing aid and has been using them about 3 weeks. She highly recommended them to me so I now have a right hearing aid and it is terrific. I will (being very cautious by nature) be ordering for the other ear very soon. For me the biggest feature was the 3 volume choices and the comfort I feel when wearing it and also the price, WOW!

Since purchasing a HD400 I didnt realise how little I was hearing naturally. Delivery was prompt and I am delighted with the product,now everything comes with sound effects. Thanks also for helping me with a minor problem when I asked for assistance.

The feedback you requested.

I'll divide comment into two sections, firstly:

Hearing Direct. No problems here at all, first class service, which it would be difficult to improve.

secondly:

The HD400 itself. Having bought it "over the counter" so to speak, it would be surprising if it were perfect. It's good, but could do with a few more decibels to be ideal.
A more pertinent criticism relates to the manual. The 'programme button' gives me the choice of four programmes. I have only a vague idea what three of them do, and the manual doesn't help much.

That said, in terms of 'value for money' the complete package rates quite highly.
