This door bell alert works well. Before using it I couldn't hear the doorbell if I was in the back kitchen or upstairs using my computer. Now I carry it in with me, plug it in and no longer need to worry that I will miss visitors. The flashing light is clear and bright and I can position it in front of me when using the computer so that I know if someone is at the door when my hearing aid is switched off. I had also hoped that I would be able to hear the alarm when not wearing my hearing aid but can't, which is why I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars. To be fair, I am very deaf and can hear very little without a hearing aid. This is unlikely to be a problem for those with medium or moderate hearing losses as the alarm is extremely loud. It is So loud that I have to set it on one of the lower sound settings when I do wear my hearing aid! It is a pity that there are only three different tone settings to choose from, for if I had been able to set it on one of the few tones I can hear, I would have heard it easily.
