An excellent new mobile phone from Doro, the 622 shares many of the features of its sister phone the 621 but offers just that bit more. Firstly, this model has a great feature whereby the content of the phone including phonebook, settings and features can be controlled remotely. For example, if this is for a family member and they are having some problems accessing features or adding phone numbers - you can add these for them on a wesbite which transfers all the settings to the phone; all done without your needing to have them or the phone in front of you. It also has other useful additions such as a weather update feature along with more standard options including a camera and video camera as well as SMS and MMS functionality.
As for all mobile phones from HearingDirect, the 622 is SIM free so can be used with any existing SIM whether on a contract or pay as you go or a new SIM card can be used if desirable.
As a clamshell phone using the Doro 622 to receive calls is easy by opening the phone and end calls by closing. This also means the keypad is protected avoiding calling people by mistake when in a pocket or bag.

I decided on this phone after much searching on the Internet for a mobile phone which would work well with my hearing aid, but I also required predictive text, a simple camera and FM Radio.
This phone has excellent sound with my hearing aid, especially in the "T" mode. The predictive text operates a bit differently from my previous phone, but I am actually finding it much better, now that I have got used to it. The camera is easy to use, and gives reasonable results, though I would use a separate camera for serious photography. I tuned the FM Radio to a number of my favourite stations at home, and listened to it via a special neckloop with my hearing aid set to "T", while exercising at the gym. The reception at the gym was better than with my previous mobile phone.
On the downside, I am finding even the lower setting of the font too large, and wish there could be a smaller font option.
It would be better if the contact list could also show the phone numbers at the same time. Also, I would like to be able to set up my own shortcuts, e.g. to the Torch and FM Radio, instead of having to go through several stages to get there.
On the whole, though, I am very pleased with this Doro phone, and it also looks very nice (Burgundy version) !
