Amplified phones from Geemarc offer extra loud receiving volume, adjustable tone control and hearing aid compatibility mean it can easily be customised to your hearing loss.

Accessibility is the keyword with the Geemarc CL455. A big, backlit keypad also makes it easier to dial out: when pressed, each button will also say its number out loud to spare you the embarrassment of dialling wrong numbers. The Geemarc CL455 takes vocalisation one step further to include caller ID: when someone rings, the telephone will tell you their number or their name.

Features include a handsfree speaker phone, an amplified, flashing ringer with a variety of ringing melodies to make sure you never miss a call, 6 direct dial buttons and a clock. It also features an easy to use answering machine with up to 30 minutes of recording time: it gives plenty of time to leave long messages in your absence and you have the option to listen to your messages when away from home thanks to a secure remote access with PIN number. Listening to your messages can be done via the handset or on the speakerphone and it is even possible to slow the messages down to make them easier to understand. Rediscover the pleasure of long telephone calls on the top quality CL455!

Review by Pam White (Posted on 05/04/2012)
Generally this is a good phone for the hard of hearing and partially sighted. I bought it for my elderly parents, one has hearing difficulties, the other is partially sighted and it has helped them. They both listen on the speaker phone and this is clear. In the past hearing with handsets has been difficult but the boost function has solved this. The reason I have not given a 5 is because I couldn't find a way for the talking function to cover the preset buttons which I believe is a significant design problem. This means if you can't see you have to remember who each of the 9 presets, not easy the older you are is or risk dialing the wrong number. It takes a bit of setting up so make sure someone is available to help. The manual is quite clear for what is covered but it took quite a lot of knowledge for granted and answers to questions weren't always available. The answering machine has not been used yet so can't comment on it.

Review by Denise Hobbs (Posted on 25/07/2011)
Geemarc telephone bought for my elderly parents (87 and 88) has been a success. My Father is a little concerned because the size and number of the buttons are so ""obvious"" but my Mother says ""you will get used to them"". Father is very deaf and even he can hear the phone ring which is marvellous. My review rating for the product is 5!
