Review by Michael Hill (Posted on 02/02/2012)
Further to my earlier review when I critised the Doro 615 reception for being tinny, I now can announce that I had a faulty phone which has now been replaced. The sound IS loud and clear. Very loud, in fact. My only gripe now is that I had to pay £7.00 postage to send the faulty phone back to the supplier, which I hasten to add, was not Hearing Direct. So the product gets five stars from me.

Review by Michael Hill (Posted on 20/01/2012)
I have recently taken delivery of a Doro 615 and am wondering if there is a 'significant' difference in the earpiece volume and clarity when compared with other 'standard' phones. I have compared it with my old Nokia 6300 and there does not seem to be any difference between the two in volume. I have the setting for the Doro 615 volume at High for people with moderate hearing loss with the volume at maximum. My wife, who has perfect hearing, agrees with me that the difference is non existent. I have no idea what difference I should expect, but it is far from earth moving. Obviously, the reason I took delivery of the phone is because I have a moderate hearing loss and you advertise your product as extra loud and clear. Also, the loop doesn't work well with my Phonak hearing aids, but you do say that some aids are not compatible and I accept that mine is probably not one them. I might add that I also have a Doro HearPlus 317ci, a good product which does enable me to hear reason ably well on the phone. Also the leaflet mentions tone control. I assumed, wrongly, that this was for the reception as for the Doro HearPlus phone. Nope, it was for the ringer. The sound quality is really tinny and my hearing loss requires a much more beefy sound, which my Nokia produces. The 615 is a good product for what it is, a no frills phone, but I have had to go back to my Nokia as the sound quality is appalling.

I selected this phone for my Mother-in l...

Review by Alan G Tomkinson (Posted on 26/10/2011)
I selected this phone for my Mother-in law after carefully considering all other similar phones on the market. My Mother-in-law is 90 years old; her brain is still fine with no signs of dementia but, her body is giving up. She is confined to bed at a nursing home and has to be turned regularly. she is a little deaf and her finger dexterity is poor. She is unable to use the landline phone in her room. She has had a mobile phone for many years and is used to them but, lately, she has had problems with the too small keys and the too low volume of both the audio and the ring, as well as just answering the phone before the caller hangs up. The Doro 615 PhoneEasy has solved all the problems in one fell swoop. She can now hear the phone ringing, answer the phone by just opening the flip, and clearly hear the caller's voice. She can again easilly dial numbers with the ergonomically designed keys, and see the large screen clearly. As yet, I have not fully taught her how to use the menu and directory properly. However, she is 90 years old and not technology savy but, I am sure it will come in time. I do not expect her to use the camera but, she loves looking at photos of her Daughter (my wife) and Grand-daughter and Great-grand-son which I have downloaded onto the phone. After just a few days of use, she is again, an avid, regular caller. The only problem is that she cannot easilly use the Doro case for the phone. This is beautifully designed and made but she is not dextrous enough to get the phone out of the case so she is not using it. The charging cradle is also a hassle free boon. No instruction to use it is necessary. She gives the phone to an attendant at night to put in the cradle for charging and gets it back again in the morning. Altogether, a resounding success.

What a little beauty! Even a geriatric idiot like ME can use it; and I am SO grateful to have a phone which has a lid - and doesn't turn itself on and off in my handbag!!!!

Review by Lorraine (Posted on 21/08/2011)
Purchsed this phone for my mum for her 57th Birthday today and she has never been happier with a phone before. She has a new toy to play with and loves the camera and radio function. She has always had trouble texting but has not stopped texting today and has actually found her own way round the phone (which is very unlike her with technology) Thank you to HearingDirect.com for an excellent service and fast delivery, definitly recommend this phone and website :)
